Dear tumblr. I have a confession to make. I’ve been keeping something from you. I made a really awesome new set of polishes. And I didn’t tell you guys. Because I could not keep them from selling out! But now I think I’m prepared to let you guys know these exist. Introducing my Constellation Top Coat. These polishes are made to light up your nails like starry skies.

This polish comes in aqua and green which are clear top coats that you can wear over any polish or over bare nails. They are invisible in the daylight and once charged with a bit of light, glow brightly in the dark! I’m also offering an opaque green polish called Stellar Cartography! It’s packed full of green glow pigment, but appears a really cool opaque green in the day light.

This week I’m experimenting with glow in the dark pigments! My nails look like Hubble deep field haha. And I suspended the pigment in a clear matte base, so in the day light, it doesn’t look like I have anything in my nails at all.

What a fantastic day today was! I had an amazing day at the Yellow Springs Street Fair in the Comet Vomit booth! Then I came home and had some pizza with the cats and the dogger. Now I want to sleep for like a million hours.

So I am almost finished with my nail polish displays for my booth! The polishes will sit in front of the pictures and you’ll be able to see part of the pictures and read the name. I’m hoping it will encourage people to handle the polishes so they can see all of the pictures. Once they’re having fun interacting with the displays and seeing their favorite fandoms, maybe they will be more inclined to buy ;)

And yes, that was my best attempt at drawing NDT hahaha

Here’s a sneak peak at my new eye shadow tester display! You can come see it in person on First Friday in downtown Dayton or on June 14th at the Yellow Springs Street Fair!

I’m completely thrilled to say that this has been my best month ever on etsy! I have had more views, likes, sales and revenue than ever before! I am so grateful that I get to share what I’m passionate about with the world! I’ve done over 100 sales in 2014 so far and I can’t wait to do even more and put out more products!

This business was once just a sketch on a page in my journal. And now here I am filing taxes and daydreaming about the fact that if every month went like this month, I could quit my day job and find a part time job closer to home and spend way more time doing what I love most of all.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that your dreams are stupid. Don’t ever let anyone belittle your passion! The road to success is a rough road! It’s not easy and it’s not even always fun. Sometimes success feels unobtainable, but reward truly does come from hard work!

So, I’m never going to be a physicist or an astronaut. I didn’t chose those paths or put in the work for those things. But hey- I made custom jewelry for someone who works at NASA! I’ve sold bottles of nail polish to the National Physical Society! I’m passionate about space and science and while I may not have the credentials to work in that industry, I created my own back door into that world! And I will keep tunneling into these worlds that I’ve always wanted to see and be a part of. Because I can make my own rules now.
